Key Issues include the following:

  • Defeat of Employee Free Choice Act; Protect secret ballot elections
  • Obtaining access and approval in every state for ABC’s Job Training and Apprenticeship programs
  • Open federal fundraising for green jobs training to ABC Chapters
  • Assuring use of Helpers on federal construction projects
  • Keeping school construction issues free of federal, state, and local mandates
  • Assuring Open Competition through prohibition of union-only project labor agreements
  • Passage of THE FAIR ACT, which would enable small businesses to recover attorneys’ fees when they successfully defend themselves before the NLRB and OSHA
  • Tax relief, including repeal of the estate tax and alternative minimum tax, and reduction in capital gains tax
  • OSHA reform, to improve safety through education and incentives, not harassment
  • Expand access to health insurance through Small Business Health Plans and tax incentives; oppose open-ended liability and additional coverage mandates
  • Assure fair hiring practices through prohibition of unfair salting abuses under the NLRB
  • Repeal of Davis-Bacon Act and state prevailing wage laws
